Katherine Schrock, a five-year resident of Sahuarita, [AZ] passed away Feb. 28, 2009.
Kay was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on Jan. 3, 1920. Subsequent to her marriage in 1937 to Eugene C. “Gene” Schrock, the birth of their daughter Loretta in San Diego, Calif. and son Jim in Pensacola, Fla., and her husband’s retirement in 1957, Kay successfully suffered the loneliness and rigors of a Navy wife.
Following his retirement, Gene and Kay were full-time RVers for more than 20 years; travelling and enjoying the length and breadth of the U.S. They lived in Arizona beginning in the 1970s.
She was a 44-year member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Assoc., and was forever involved in culinary, handicraft and social activities.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents Tille and Anthony Lista; Gene, her husband of 63 years; and sisters Rose and Louise.
She is survived by her daughter Loretta L. Schrock of Georgia and son James D. Schrock of Ohio. She had seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
