    “The first anyone heard of Carolina, she was walking from Gerald with a suitcase in her hand. She stopped at a farmhouse and asked where F.M. Weirich lived. She was told and went on and newspaper clipping later announcing the marriage of F. M. Weirich and Carolina Park.

    “...how did they meet? ..she was working in a boarding house or restaurant in Washingto...F.M. drove stock to Washington to ship by train. Maybe that is how they met...Another theory is that he met her through her brother Eli...(who) lived on the next farm from F.M.Weirich.

    “Eli was known as Uncle Eely and Aunt Lindy and cousins, Lindy and Mally.....remembers an Uncle Sam visiting and taking him to Little Creek Cemetery....thinks William and mary are buried there.

    “Wilbert did tell that his mother was jolly and liked to talk. It is believed the jolliness and sense of humor came from the Park side of the family. Carrie liked to tell her children stories, especially ghost stories.

    Sheila Rae Jett of Owensville departed this life on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She had reached the age of 61 years, eight months, and 28 days. Sheila was born December 6, 1951 in Washington, Missouri to the late Clifford and Verna (Fink) Weirich. On February 11, 1972, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Jett in Hermann. She worked as a cook at school for many years. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Jett; two sons, Rodney Jett of Owensville and Todd Jett and wife Kim of Raymore, Missouri; three brothers, Frederick Weirich of Gerald, David Weirich and wife Carolyn of Gerald, and Roy Weirich and wife Jeannie of Union.; and five grandchildren, Marissa, Parker, Faith, Sierra, and Alexis Jett. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald, Missouri with Pastor Glenn Hollander officiating. Burial will be in the Martin-Weirich Cemetery in Leslie, Missouri. Visitation for 61 year old Sheila Rae Jett will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
