    Zehr, Faith E., daughter of George and Ella (Troyer) Schertz, was born in Hudson, Ill., Apr. 22, 1907; died at Mercy Hospital, Urbana, Ill., Feb. 18, 1981; aged 73 y. On Feb. 14, 1939, she was married to Lester Zehr, who died on May 22, 1962. She is survived by one daughter (Mariella K. Brandt), 3 sons (John, Daniel, and Robert), and one sister (Eunice Foster). She was a member of the East Bend Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Feb. 20, in charge of Ted Wentland; interment in church cemetery.

    CHAMPAIGN — John David Zehr, 78, of Champaign died at 12:30 a.m. Monday (Dec. 3, 2018) at Meadowbrook Health Center, Champaign.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher. Pastor Michael Dean will officiate. Burial will be in East Bend Mennonite Church Cemetery, Fisher. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at Morgan Memorial Home, Savoy, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

    John David was born Feb. 27, 1940, in Bloomington, the son of Lester and Faith Schertz Zehr. He married Bernie Magsamen on Sept. 8, 1973, in Champaign. She survives.

    Also surviving are two sons, Scott D. Zehr of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Jonathan J. (Tricia) Zehr of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; one daughter, Sarah (Daniel Gantz) Zehr of Savoy; one grandson, Adrian J. Zehr; two brothers, Robert (Cindy) Zehr of Foosland and Daniel L. Zehr of Gibson City; and one sister; Mariella (Doug) Braun of Mahomet. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lois.

    John David retired from the Unit 4 school district bus garage. He was a lifelong member of East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher.
    John David was a die-hard Cubs and Bears fan. He loved visiting his friends.
    Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
