    Notes 
    • Marriage document seems to say Nicholas is a widower, but no name of first spouse. He is the son of deceased Jacques Risser and Catherine Ruppe, father and mother from Alzing. It does not say if Catherine Ruppe is dead or alive.
      Four major witnesses: Joseph Farnie, miller, living in Nollweyer (57930 Bisping Belles Forets), brother-in-law of the groom. Christian(ne) Engel, farmer, living in Sommange (Zommange 57260), brother in law of the groom; Jacque Moser, miller, living in Nollweyer, neighbour of the bride; Josephe Engel, meunier (miller) demeurant au moulin de Lorentzs. Josephe Farnie does not know reading and writing.
