McAllen - Herman "Hap" Parsons, age 95, passed away on August 22, 2017, at Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home. He was a Pearl Harbor Veteran, a pilot, and an accomplished musician who played for many successful artists including Louis Armstrong. Hap spent most of his life serving God as a Missionary Dentist in several countries including Mexico, New Guinea, Philippines and Australia. He was a man after God's own heart, an adventurer, fearless in his pursuit of God and His will, vibrant, intelligent, creative, and passionate. He shared God's love with all and impacted all who met him.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as by his 4 siblings.
Hap is survived by his wife, of 53 years, Dorothy Oyer Parsons and a daughter Pamela T. Parsons.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017, from 3-8 with a 6pm Celebration Service at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission. Cremation will follow.
Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home.
