William Zimmerman, 79, was found dead in his home in Gibson City Sunday morning by a daughter-in-law. Mrs. William Zimmerman Rantoul. The time of death has not been determined. Ford County Coroner Reynard Hayslette will conduct an inquiry
Mr. Zimmerman was a lifelong resident of Gibson City and had been employed by Illinois State Highway Maintenance, the Stokely Van-Camp Company and as a school bus driver. The funeral was Monday at the Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Chester Chandler officiating. Burial was in Drummer Township Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Gregerson, Don May, Ed May, Melvin Wright, Jim Thompson, and Dick Thompson.
He was born Feb. 18, 1894 near Fisher a son of John and Fashbender Zimmerman. He married Lyla Berkler June 19, 1922 in Lafayette Ind. She died in July 1960. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Betty Brok---, Gibson City, and a brother Charles, Foosland. A son, four sisters and a brother preceded him in death. Mr. Zimmerman served in France during World War I.
