      Joseph J. Hernandez, 78, of Aurora, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Provena Mercy Medical Center with his family at his side.

      He was born August 26, 1930 in Eola, IL.

      Survivors include the mother of his children, Rosemary (Kipper) Smith of Ellis Grove, IL; his children, Larry (Sandy) of Utica, IL, Diane (Ben) DeLeon of Green Bay, WI, Carol Williams of Lake Holiday, IL, Gillian (Kathy) of Aurora, Rosemary "Rose" (William) See of Yorkville, Joe (Pamela) and Chris (Sheri) both of Aurora; his son-in-law, Kenneth Russell of Mantachie, MS; 25 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores (Robert) Perez and Anna (Robert) Quigley both of Aurora; and numerous nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Russell and Susan Annette; his parents, Encarnacion and Enriqueta (Belmudez) Hernandez; and his brother, Frank Hernandez.

      Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26, 2009 from The Daleiden Mortuary at 9:30 AM to St. Therese Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. Michael Miller will officiate with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 25 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N.
