  • Notes 
    • Magdalena was born in the hamlet of Probfeld and immigrated to Quebec with her sister Anna about 1849 before the rest of her family arrived on the ship "Neptune" in 1851. Lorraine Roth says they came with their Aunt Katharina and her husband Christian Schantz. They both were married in 1850 with Magdalena marrying John Egli in the Hay Amish Mennonite Church on February 10. She bore him 12 children and they moved to Tazewell County, Illinois in 1867, where they joined the Hopedale Amish Mennonite Church. [2]
