EUREKA - Katie Kennell, 96, of 700 N. Main St., Eureka, passed away at 10:50 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Maple Lawn Health Care Center.
She was born on Feb. 10, 1911, in Garden City, Mo., a daughter of Henry and Katie Good Horsch. She married Arthur P. Kennell on Feb. 5, 1930, in Fisher, Ill. He died on Feb. 2, 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Lyle (Roberta) Kennell of Benson, Earl Kennell of Roanoke and Dean Kennell of Louisiana. Seventeen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Delmar Kennell; three brothers; four sisters; and three grandchildren.
Katie worked at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
She was a member of the Woodford County Farm Bureau.
Katie was a member of Cazenovia Mennonite Church, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008. The Revs. Dennis Kennell and Doug Hicks will officiate. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Maple Lawn Homes. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 6, at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maple Lawn Health Care Center or her church.
