      MAHOMET – Jeryl "Jerry" Heiser, 59, died at 1:59 p.m. Monday (May 9, 2016) at his home in Mahomet.
      Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Windsor Road Christian Church, 2501 Windsor Road, Champaign. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, at the church with Pastor Randy Boltinghouse officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Mahomet.

      Jerry was born May 31, 1956, in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, a son of Donald and Betty (Zehr) Heiser. He married Tammie Evans on Dec. 5, 1992, in Urbana. She survives and resides in Mahomet.
      Other survivors include his mother, Betty Heiser of Goshen, Ind.; two children, Alyssa and Joshua Heiser of Mahomet; one brother, Dennis (Linda) Heiser of Goshen; two sisters, Anita (Murray) Hartzler of Florence, S.C., and Debra (Mark) Heiser of Goshen; 10 nephews, Ryan (Amanda) Heiser of Kalamazoo, Mich., Andrew Heiser of Los Angeles, Justin Hartzler of Florence, S.C., Ian Hartzler of Columbus, S.C., Adam and Alex Yoder of Goshen, John McDonald of Lincoln, Ill., and Caleb, Ethan and Levi Ham of Peoria; and five nieces, Amy (Andy) Pugh of San Marcos, Calif., Elyse Yoder of Goshen, Alivia and Hanna Ham of Peoria and Liza McDonald of Fairbury.

      Jerry attended Windsor Road Christian Church. He earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Goshen College in 1981. He later graduated from the University of Illinois with an architecture degree in 1990 and worked as a registered architect until the last four years.

      He enjoyed carpentry work, building furniture, home repair and working outside in the yard.
