      FISHER - John B. Heiser, 62, of Fisher peacefully passed away at 11:50 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 17, 2023) at home, surrounded by his family.
      A graveside celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at East Bend Memorial Gardens, rural Fisher.
      Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, Jesus is The Way Prison Ministry or Seek and Find Ministries.
      John was born May 22, 1961, in Champaign, a son of Merle and Edith Wiens Heiser. He married Lisa M. Rogers on Nov. 23, 1990.
      He is survived by his wife, Lisa Heiser of Fisher; their son, Jake Heiser of Fisher; his mother, Edith Heiser of Gibson City; and sister, Cleona (Dean) Swartzentruber of Johnson City, Tenn.
      He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Karen Heiser and Carol Nunn.
      John is a 1979 graduate of Fisher High School. After graduation, he began his lifelong career as a farmer. He served on the board of directors of the Fisher Farmers Grain & Coal and the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed a good tractor-pulling event, spending time with his dog, Cocoa, and was a collector of model trains and toy tractors.
