      Duane Camp Sears, 87, of Eureka, died at 8:53 a.m. Monday (Aug. 11, 2014) at his home.

      He was born Sept. 18, 1926 near Washington to Harvey D. Sears and Dinah B. Camp. On Sept. 12, 1948, he married Kay Kennell. Together they had two sons, William Duane Sears and Ronald Wayne Sears. They also welcomed a daughter, Sharon Kay Sears. Duane enjoyed six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by a son, William; a granddaughter, Esther Sears and one brother, Robert.

      He is survived by his wife; one son, Ron; one daughter, Sharon Helmers and brothers, Wilmer Sears, Merle Sears and Earl Sears.

      He completed his undergraduate college degree at Eureka College and his master’s degree at Bradley University.
