“Peter Schrock, 75, well-known retired building contractor, died suddenly at 8:45 o’clock Sunday evening at his residence, 706 Bacon street, of a heart attack.
“Mr. Schrock, who underwent a major operation about five weeks ago, had seemed to be in good health until shortly before the attack. He and his wife had eaten Sunday dinner at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Walter E. Schaefer, 810 S. Eighth street.
“Shortly after they returned home, he complained of feeling ill and the family physician was called. An hour after the doctor left, Mr. Schrock was stricken, falling from the side of his bed where he had been sitting.
“The deceased was born in Woodford County, IL on Jan 29, 1867, a son of John (son of Johannes) and Barbara Rediger Schrock. His marriage was to Alice Bahn at Aurora, Neb. on Feb 20, 1901.
“Surviving beside the wife and daughter are two brothers, Ed and Will Schrock, both of Pekin; six sisters, Mrs. Catherine Ropp, San Franciso, Calif., Mrs. R. H. Thode, Pasadena, Cal., Mrs. Charles Heisel, Mrs. Herman Gueber, Miss Frances Schrock and Miss Bina Schrock, all of Pekin.
“A brother, Dan, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Ringwald, preceded him in death.
“The body was removed to the Preston and Jackson Funeral home where friends may call until time of services at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. R. E. Buford will officiate. [5]
