Christian enlisted in the Civil War and was at Memphis. He never united with the church.
History of Tazewell County, p. 542, says Chrisitan “united with the (Omish) Mennonite Church in 1867.” Christian served in the civil War in Co. G, 108th Ill. infantry.
“For some cause or other he apparently was considered a sort of ‘black sheep’ in the family.
Christian remarried in 1914 and lived 10 years more--the longest lived of his parent’s children. [1, 4]
