      Burkey. - Mary Burkey (nee Stalter) was born Mar. 5, 1820, at Munich, Bavaria, Germany; died Jan. 3, 1916, at the home of her son at Raymond, Nebr.; aged 95 y. 9 m. 29 d. Married to Christian Burkey in 1838, came with him to America in 1843. To them were born 12 children, 1 died at birth, 1 in later years and 10 remain to mourn her departure. She also leaves 49 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She has always lived a beautiful Christian life and has enjoyed good health until the last 10 days when she was taken with lagrippe. [10]
