Notes - Obit: Herald of Truth, April 1887:
BURKY - On the 1st of March, in Woodford county, Ill., of cancer in the stomach and lung fever, Bro. Jacob Burky, aged about 72 years. He was buried on the 3d. Services by Chr. Risser, John P. Schmidt and Peter Hockstetler, from 1 Cor. 15 and John 5:24. The deceased suffered much pain for several years, but he bore it all patiently.
Lived at Hofbesitzer in Lerchenfeld and rented Teublitz
“Andréas Birki from Gern with brother Jacob made application for emigration to Illinois. The father Valentin remains in Gern. (Maybe to avoid paying taxes, too.) “ [6, 8]
