      "Stalter - Jacob Stalter was born at Rheinpfalz, Germany, Oct. 20, 1840; died in Pontiac, Ill., at the St. James Hospital, Dec. 18, 1922; aged 82 y. 1 m. 28 d. He was married Feb. 15, 1872, to Catherine Grieser, at Bloomington, Ill. His companion died Aug. 15, 1922. To this union were born four sons and one daughter. Two sons and the daughter preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons (Henry and Joe of near Meadows, Ill.), 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, one sister, and many relatives and friends. He united with the Mennonite Church while yet a young man and remained faithful to the end. The greater part of his life was spent in the vicinity of Meadows, Ill. Funeral services were held at the home of his son Henry (with whom he had his home since the death of his companion) and at the Waldo Church by the home ministers. Interment in the Waldo cemetery."
