Wayne, son of the late Roscoe George Parks and wife Leah Elizabeth, nee Wing, known to all as Dollie, was born Feb. 9, 1938, in St. Clair. As a young man, he was united in marriage and blessed to have one son. On Oct. 3, 1982, he was united in marriage to Opal Inez Hassell, nee Brown, known to most as Inez, and their families were joined as one.

He was a member and retiree of Laborers Local 110, St. Louis, and for the last 18 years of his working career, he worked in residential construction. After he retired, Wayne and Inez moved to St. Clair, where he enjoyed raising cattle and enjoyed rural living. He liked to go to auctions and the sale barn, especially enjoying the fellowship of other cattlemen. Riding and raising quarter horses was a favorite pastime. Nothing made him happier than the time spent with his family, and many wonderful memories were created. Wayne was a kind and gracious gentleman with a warm smile and a keen sense of humor.
