RANTOUL – Pete L. Good, 58, of Rantoul left his earthly life, surrounded by family, Friday morning (Oct. 21, 2016) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
He was born Feb. 4, 1958, in Champaign, a son of Lloyd and Verda (Hershberger) Good. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Eureka.
He married Dawn Meece on Sept. 30, 1978, in Fisher. She survives, along with their children, Leah (Brad) Hunsberger of Goshen, Ind., Anna (Ben Larson) Good of Champaign, Jacob
(Gabriela Vallejos) Good of Rantoul and Jeremy Good of Rantoul; and a grandson, Ethan. Also surviving are brothers, Nicholas (Dr. Judith Kooser) Good of Topeka, Kan., and Jeff (Kendra) Good of Fisher; and a sister, Katrina (Carl Cline) Good of Rantoul.
Pete was a 1976 graduate of Rantoul Township High School. He was co-owner of G&G Machine Shop in Rantoul. He was known for his affinity and knowledge of anything with an engine. He also farmed in the Rantoul area all his life.
He loved family vacations at Little Eden Camp in Michigan, watching NASCAR, fishing, gardening and cooking, and catering with his Big Pig Catering buddies.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at East Bend Mennonite Church, rural Fisher.
A memorial service will be at East Bend Mennonite Church at noon on Monday, Oct. 31, with a visitation one hour before.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions can be made to Little Eden Camp; SIMP (Southern Illinois Missionary Partnership); or an organization of the donor's choice.
