      Willis E. "Tater" Zobrist, 74, Morton, passed away at 4 a.m. Monday (Aug. 24, 2009) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

      He was born Oct. 30, 1934, in Morton, son of Noah and Mary Birky Zobrist. He married Nancy Roehm on Sept. 11, 1955, in Washington.

      He was preceded in death by two grandchildren and three brothers.

      Tater graduated from Morton High School and attended Bradley University. He was an owner of N. Zobrist & Sons Inc. and Zobrist Development, developing the Field Shopping Center in Morton.

      He was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton and served as a board member at Lutheran Home in Peoria. He served as a director and board member of the Morton Community Bank. He was a volunteer firefighter in Morton for 30 years.

      Tater was a member of the Bradley Chiefs Club and served as a board member with the Peoria Chiefs.
      Tater was devoted to God, his family, friends and enjoyed traveling, especially to Gulf Shores in Alabama.

      He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bradley Braves fan, and more recently developed a passion for the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team. [4]
