      PONTIAC — JoAnn Stalter, 78, of Pontiac passed away at 2:25 p.m. Saturday (July 27, 2013) at Asta Care Center of Pontiac.
      A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Waldo Township Cemetery in Flanagan, with the Rev. Ray Owens of the First United Methodist Church in Pontiac officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac. Memorial contributions may be made to the Livingston County Relay for Life or a charity of the donor’s choice.
      JoAnn was born Aug. 14, 1934, in Pontiac, a daughter of Delbert and Ida Johnson Jones. She married Lester D. “Don” Stalter on June 24, 1956, in Pontiac. He passed away Aug. 21, 2007.
      She is survived by one son, Michael Stalter, Pontiac; two grandchildren, Tom Stalter, Bloomington, and Sarah Stalter, Pontiac; three sisters, Betty Blankenbeckler, Joyce Johnson and Donna Ifft; and several nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Barbara Finckenbinder; and her daughter-in-law, Mary Stalter.
      JoAnn was educated in the Pontiac schools. She stayed home and took care of their son, Michael. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pontiac. She was active in the Methodist Church Circle, Pontiac Women’s Club and the Republican Women.
