“When in July 1926, the Chief Architect of Historical Monuments Julien Polti reports to the Director of Fine Arts project to protect the ruins of Castle Lafauche under the additional inventory, to be adopted by order of February 4, 1927 The castle is in a substantially similar to that in which the association found the backup "Friends of the Castle" in 1983. So the town buys the castle at the Roth family who had for several generations, and the association proceeded to brush the ruins in 1986. The actual restoration work was undertaken in 1988, the first three years as a party restitutive inspired plan of the early eighteenth century, which resulted in the election, contested since the destruction of the remains of the house from 1740 .”
One researcher says the Contreau family is not on the 1906 census of LaFauche.
