    • Obit: Gospel Herald, January 1936:
      "Joseph W. Zehr was born at Peoria, Ill., Jan. 1, 1851; died Dec. 20, 1935; aged 84 y. 11 m., 20 d. He was married in 1876 to Louisa Agley, at Bloomington, Ill. Three children reside in California (Mrs. Mary Thomas, Paul, and Geo. Zehr). There are three grandchildren. Bro. Zehr had resided in California about 30 years. Funeral services, Dec. 30, in charge of Bro. P.A. Heller."
