    Notes:

    Of Singling.

Joseph and Magdalena (Farny, Zehr) Risser employed a servant, Marie Farny. She was a niece of Magdalena, and a daughter of her brother Joseph Farny (b.1776) and Anne Neuhauser (b. 1772). In 1824, about a year after Magdalena (Farny, Zehr) Risser’s daughter Magdalena Zehr died at age ten, Marie Farny bore an illegitimate son, named John Farny. Joseph Risser was the biological father of Marie's son, and perhaps also the father of Marie’s illegitimate daughter born two/four years later, whom she named Magdalena Farny. This is according to an account told by the son's son Aaron Forney to his children.
Because they were raised in the Risser home, in some records these two Farny children appear as John and Magdalena Risser.

Joseph married Magdalena Farney on 3 Aug 1814 in Gros-Réderching, Moselle, Lorraine, FR. Magdalena (daughter of Christian Farny and Anne Marie Hirchi (Hirschy)) was born in 1783 in Bistroff, Moselle, FR. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
