    Heiser.--Merle Eugene, son of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Heiser, was born near Foosland, Ill., March 30, 1933; died of pneumonia, following an appendectomy, at the mercy Hospital, Urbana, Ill., Aug. 21, 1946; aged 13 y. 4 m. 22 d. Surviving are his parents, one brother (Lowell Dean), and a host of other relatives and friends. At the age of twelve he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and united with the East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher, Ill. He was kind and loving to everyone and very patient during his illness. Funeral services were held Aug. 23 at the East Bend Church, in charge of J. A. Heiser. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    HEISER. - Adina Ida (King) Heiser was born near Groveland, Ill., May 23, 1868; died at her home near Foosland, Ill., Jan. 30, 1930; aged 61 y. 8 m. 29 d. At the age of 16 she accepted Christ, united with the Mennonite Church, and remained faithful to the end. On Jan. 31, 1888, she was united in marriage to Peter Heiser. To this union 3 children were born. With the exception of about 23 years spent near Groveland, Ill., she spent all of her life where she resided at the time of her death. Her health began to fail about 3 years ago and about 2 weeks ago her condition became serious. She bore her suffering patiently, death being due to a complication of diseases. She leaves her husband, three sons (Samuel, Aaron, and Silas), 5 grandchildren, 4 brothers (Adam, Chris, Simon, and John); 1 sister (Eva Wagler), and many other relatives and friends. Four sisters and one brother preceded her in death, also three half-brothers and three half-sisters. Funeral services were held at the East Bend Mennonite Church by Bro. Samuel Zehr in German and Bro. J. A. Heiser in English. Texts, Psa. 90 and I Thess 4: 13, 14. Interment in East Bend Cemetery.

    John B. Zimmerman was born July 23, 1846 in Baden, Germany; died at his home near Foosland, Ill., Sept. 24, 1939; aged 93 y. 2 m. 1 d. On June 21, 1887, he was united in marriage to Martha Fahsbender, who preceded him in death several years ago. To this union 7 children were born, all of whom survive, as follows: Mrs. Mary Birkey, Mrs. Bertha Oyer, and Mrs. Elizabeth Heiser of Foosland; Mrs. Allie Gregerson of Paxton; William and Ernest of Gibson City, and Charles at home; also 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. His 4 brothers preceded him in death. He united with the Defenseless Mennonite Church at Groveland, Ill., when a young man and found a great consolation reading his Bible daily. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Sept. 26 at the home and at the East Bend Mennonite Church conducted by Bro. Roy Unzicker. Text, Heb. 9:27. Burial in East Bend Cemetery.

    John and Martha lived near Pontiac, IL, and later north of Fisher, IL. John worked on the farm until age 89 years. He first became a father at age 41, and was 57 when his youngest child was born. Martha was 14 years younger than John.

    Martha Fahsbender Zimmerman was born in Germany Aug. 26, 1860; died at her home near Foosland, Ill., May 26, 1935; aged 74 y. 9 m. She came to America when 12 years of age. She was united in marriage with John B. Zimmerman June -, 1887. To this union eight children were born. One daughter preceded her in death. She leaves the aged husband and the following children: Mrs. John Birky, Mrs. Joseph Oyer, and Mrs. Silas Heiser of Foosland, Ill.; Mrs. Louis Gregerson of Ludlow, Ill.; William and Ernest of Gibson City, Ill., and Charles at home; also 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Four grandchildren preceded her in death. She also leaves a brother (Ernest Fahsbender of Chicago) and a half-brother (Charles Fahsbender of Pontiac). She will be sadly missed, as she was always a loving mother and a kind neighbor, and was loved by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the East Bend Mennonite Church with Bros. J. A. Heiser of Fisher, Ill., and ____ Zimmerman of Nebraska in charge. Interment in East Bend Cemetery.

    Heiser.--Mother Catherine Heiser, nee Wagler, was born in Butler Co., O., June 8, 1834; passed to her reward near Morton, Ill., Sept. 2, 1910; aged 76 y. 2 m. 24 d. Her death was caused by the infirmities of old age. Mother Heiser united with the A. M. Church in her younger years and remained a faithful member to her blessed end. She was united in matrimony with Jacob Heiser in 1850. This union was blessed with 13 children. Father Jacob Heiser, her husband, 4 children, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, preceded her to the spirit world. She leaves 9 children, 48 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and many friends to mourn her departure.
