    Earl H. Knox Jr., of rural Paxton, Illinois, a farmer and plaster and drywall contractor, died Tuesday (May 10, 1994) at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City, Illinois.

    His funeral will be Thursday (May 12, 1994) at East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher, Illinois. Burial will be at East Bend Mennonite Cemetery, Fisher, Illinois.

    He was born in rural Fisher, Illinois on July 19, 1930 a son of Earl H. Knox Sr. and Catherine L. Ingold.

    He married Marta J. McGinty on September 8, 1951 at Fisher, Illinois. She survived his death.

    Other survivors are his father of rural Paxton, Illinois; one daughter, Jeannie Knox of Virden, Illinois; one son, Danny Knox of rural Gibson City, Illinois; two sisters, Patricia Darling of Goshen, Indiana; and Amanda Osborn of Sebring, Florida; and two grandchildren.

    His mother preceded her in death.

    He attended Fisher country schools and graduated from Fisher High School in 1948. He farmed for many years in rural Paxton, Illinois and was a plaster and drywall contractor.

    He was a member of East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher, Illinois and was an avid bowler.

    Mr. Knox was born on October 2, 1909 at Garden City, Missouri, a son of Albert and Amanda (Kropf) Knox. 

    He married Catherine Ingold on August 21, 1929 at Fisher, Illinois. She died on June 20, 1977.

    Survivors include two daughters, Mary Patricia (Wayne) Darling of Goshen, Indiana; and Amanda Kay (James) Osborn of Hayesville, North Carolina; a daughter-in-law Marta Knox of Paxton, Illinois; one brother, Harold Knox of Sedalia, Missouri; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

    One son, Earl Knox Jr., three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

    Mrs. Knox a life long resident of the Gibson City and Fisher area was a member of the East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher, Illinois.

    Mrs. Katie Ingold died Saturday (August 31, 1968) at Washington Nursing Home, Washington, Illinois.

    She was born on January 15, 1877 at Baden, Germany, a daughter of Daniel and Magdelena Greiser. She came to America when she was 1 year old.

    She married David Ingold on February 7, 1894 in Fisher, Illinois. He preceded her in death.

    She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lydia Weaver of Peoria, Illinois; Mrs. Mary Slagel of Eureka, Illinois; and Mrs. Catherine Knox of Gibson City, Illinois; four sons, Roy Ingold of Paxton, Illinois; Harvie Ingold of Fisher, Illinois; Joseph Ingold of Urbana, Illinois; and Daniel Ingold of Goshen, Indiana; 34 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

    Ingold. - Joseph Ingold was born in Bavaria, Germany, Jan. 24, 1826; died Nov. 5, 1909, at the home of his son Joseph, near Flanagan, Ill., where he spent the last eighteen years of his life; aged 83 y. 9 m. 11 d. In his early youth he united with the A. M. Church, and was faithful to the end. In 1863 he was united in holy matrimony with Barbara Unzicker. To this union were born three sons. In 1871 his wife departed to the spirit world. In 1872 he was married to Barbara Ernst. She preceded him to the spirit world in 1887. He leaves to mourn his departure three sons, twenty-one grandchildren and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Waldo A. M. Church, conducted by the brethren, John Birky and D. W. Slagel. Interment in the cemetery nearby. Peace to his ashes.

    Joseph is buried with his first wife Barbara Unzicker under a joint headstone in Waldo Cemetery at Flanagan.

    Ingold. - On the 7th of April, 1871 in Livingston county, Illinois, BARBARA INGOLD, wife of Joseph Ingold, aged 27 years, 3 months and 10 days. Funeral discourses were delivered Christian Schlegel and John P. Schmitt, from I Cor. 15th and 1 Thessalonians. She was buried on the 8th. She was a faithful member of the Omish Mennonite church. She was a pious and faithful sister. She was always anxious to attend divine services, and when she could not do so she spent her time in reading and prayer. On the day she died, she was washing, and while engaged at her work she sang the hymn: "Was mich auf dieser Welt betruebt, Das waehret kurtze Zeit."
    ("What troubles me in this world, That lasts a short time.”)

To this union 10 children were born. His wife and five children preceded him to the spirit world. He is survived by 3 daughters (Mrs. John Birky, Mrs. Will Teuscher, and Mrs. Dave Ingold), 2 sons (George and Christian), 38 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends. He was ordained to the ministry over fifty years ago and was a faithful servant of the Lord to the end. Funeral services were held at the Mennonite Church Feb. 22 by Bro. Samuel Gerber of Tremont, Ill. Text, II Tim. 4:7.

    Grieser.--Magdalena Gingerich Grieser was born in Germany June 24, 1838; died at her home near Dewey, Ill., July 5, 1922; aged 85 y. 11 d. On Oct. 30, 1864, she was united in marriage with Daniel Grieser. To this union 12 children were born (Elizabeth, Birkey, Mrs. Wm. Teuscher, Chris E., Mrs. David Ingold, George M.), and 7 of her children who preceded her in death (Lena, Pheobe, Henry, and 4 infants). She confessed her Christ, united with the Mennonite Church, and remained a faithful member to the end. She leaves an aged husband, 2 sons, 3 daughters, 35 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Bros. Samuel Garber and J. A. Heiser. Text, Psa. 16:6.
