    “Hauter Jean (born in 1771 in Lembach, Bas-Rhin) and his wife Barbara Esch arrived at Haras 1799 from Asswiller (67) where they had resided since 1793; they had ten children in Sarralbe between 1799 and 1817, five of them died there. They probably left Sarralbe after 1817. Jean Hauter died in Homburg in Saarland (Germany) in 1846; his son Jacob also lived there since he got married in 1838 and have been a son John that we will find further. His daughter Elizabeth (born 1795 in Asswiller) married André Roggy (born 1787) in 1812 to Lorentzen (67). This couple settled at Haras and had three children Sarralbe between 1813 and 1816. They left for Saarland with their parents after 1817. Another of his son, André Hauter married June 8, 1829 at Haboudange (57) with Barbe Guingrich; the couple emigrated to the USA, Illinois, in 1837. “ (Translation by Google)

    Rauschenburg (Rauschenbourg), an estate near Ingweiller (Ingwiller) in Alsace listed in the Dutch [[Naamlijst der tegenwoordig in dienst zijnde predikanten der Mennoniten in de Vereenigde Nederlanden|Naamlijsts]] of 1775 and 1780 ("Ruseburg" in the district "Leeuwenhoff") as the seat of an Amish Mennonite congregation, of which Nikolaus (Nicolaas) Koch was an elder and Abraham Oesch (Esch) a preacher. According to Hermann Guth, Amish Mennonites were leaseholders on the estate at the middle of the 18th century and the district was then known as Löwenhaupt. Oesch was likely the son-in-law of Koch.
