    Born in Devonshire, England and Immigrated to Maryland in 1632. Some evidence he lived in York County, Virginia as early as 1654 and late as 1674. One John Hatch listed in Virginia Magazine Vol XIX, pg 3 as Master of Ship Plymouth Merchant. Uncertain if he is same. The Hatch family is said to have taken its name from a place in Devonshire, England. John Hatch is the earliest Hatch recorded as living in America. From Heritage of Craven County, NC.
