    Notes:

Catrina and her first husband, Joseph Lehmann lived at Mouckenhoff, near Saarebourg, in Moselle.

After the death of her second husband, Pierre Abresol, Catrina received an invitation (in July 1851) from her brother, “Red Joe” Pelsy living in America, to come live with him and his family. He offered to let her son Joseph help him with a new house he was thinking of building some day. And he would welcome help on the farm, as he only had one son. Before long, Red Joe went back to France (in 1953) and brought his sister and two of her children to America with him. They stayed with Red Joe and his family until Joseph Leman, her son, was married and able to support them.

This was the fate of many women of that time, who found themselves widowed, often several times over, and without resources to live. Catherine was fortunate to have a brother who had been very successful in America and could offer her this help.

Catrina, her third husband Andrew Schertz, her son, Joseph Lehman, Jr. and his family all left the Partridge Creek Amish Mennonite Church to become a part of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church.

While their older brothers Joseph (Red Joe), John and Peter, as well as their sister Catherine emigrated to the USA one after the other, Christian, Jacob and Nicolas Pelsy all chose to get married and settle in their hometown. Christian and Nicolas got married to 2 Abresol sisters, Catherine and Barbe, who were both from Rhodes. As for Jacob, he found his wife Madelaine Schertz in Rehere (Meurthe et Moselle), a village near the town of Baccarat. All of them are burried in the cemetery.

It should be noted the existence in the 19th century on the levee of the pond of the mill (Farm of bachats) of a mill operated by the family abresol.
This one is now destroyed, only remain the two wheels in the gardens of the field.
