  • Notes
    • Notes for Noah Parke:

Lived on same line with George Park according to early tax list for Rowan Co. Allen, Ebenezer, George, Moses, Noah and Timothy Park all witnessed each other's wills, marriage bonds, and deeds. They all lived adjoining each other in 1759
Noah owned 690 acres on Cedar Creek, Morgan Twp., Rowan Co. NC
Listed With GEORGE PARK in 1759 Rowan Co., List of Taxables. Noah would have been sixteen years old. Because of this listing, George was probably a brother to Noah but Noah would not have owned land at age 16 so there must be an error in his date of birth. Land was given to George by Noah and then later sold.
Served in Rowan Co., militia in French and Indian War, 1760, 1763.
Served in Revolution as guard at Salisbury District Gaol, 1778.
Listed on Tax List for the Berger District in 1778. Noah died in Rowan County, North Carolina. He made a will, April 5, 1801, which was filed in 1815.
According to records, Noah died on October 10, 1815. He and wife, Anna are buried in the Bean-Wyatt Cemetery in Morgan Twp., Rowan County, North Carolina
Noah and Anna were married in Rowan Co., North Carolina where they remained until death.
Marriage bondsmen at his marriage were Moses Park and Cornelius Smith, Witness: Thomas Frohock.
Noah gave his land to his other four sons while he l was still living, so evidently Amos did not receive land from his father, even though Amos was named in the will that was written in 1801.

Susan Balde Avery, of NC, J. Douglas Park of Michigan, and W. Doug Park, of NC have visited this cemetery and W. Doug has verified many tombstones in his research. "Descendant of Park Pioneer Settlers in VA/WV, NC and Ky".

Descendant Percival D. Park has also written about his ancestor, Noah Park and his descendants. "Park Origins" by Percival D. Park, PS#140

Marriage Bond between Noah Parke and Anna Reed, Aug. 9, 1767. Jacob Nichols and Henry Lively bondsmen.

Bean-Wyatt Cemetery is located off River Road on Cedar Creek. River Road runs next to the Yadkin River between Bringle Ferry Road and Stokes Ferry Road, in the eastern section of Rowan County. The cemetery is located on a section of land formerly owned by the Noah Park Sr. family. When the owner, George A Park died, his estate was insufficient to pay his debts. A petition dated December 18, 1886, was to sell 100 acres of land to the highest bidder on February 24, 1887, 1/3 in cash, balance in 12 months with interest from date of sale. James E Wyatt bought the land for $585.00. Wyatt was a descendant of Rachel Park Wyatt, daughter of Noah Park, Dr. James Hinson now owns the property, descendant of Elizabeth Park Morgan, daughter of Noah Park Sr. Noah Park Sr. died in 1820 and is the oldest grave in the cemetery. Patricia B. Beck and Mary Jane Fowler documented this cemetery on April 4, 1983. There was 134 grave sites, many without stones, many with stones but no markings.

On tax list, same line: 1759, As George Parke
Owned 690 acres on: Cedar Creek, Morgan Township, Rowan Co. NC
Served for 6 days: 1763, under Ensign James Smith in defense of the frontiers of NC, as a private

      More About Anna "Hannah" Reed:
Burial: Family graveyard on the Noah Parke farm land in Rowan Co., NC

Lived on the Park farm off River Road, south of Salisbury, NC., between Bringles Ferry and Stokes Ferry Road. (Present day owner is Dr. James Hinson) There is a small family cemetery (50 or so stones) on the farm near a tall fir tree and Cedar Creek. Noah and his wife are buried in what is now known as Park-Bean-Wyatt Cemetery. After measuring the distance between headstones and footstones, Doug concluded that Noah was about 6”4” tall and Anna was 5” tall.
