    • Obit:. Gospel Herald, March 1909:
      "Died, Feb. 13, 1909, in Chicago, where he was taking treatment for nervous troubles, Bro. Benjamin Martin of Hopedale, Ill., aged 52 y. 7 m. 17 d. Death being caused by cerebral hemmorhage. He leaves to mourn a sorrowful wife, seven sons, one daughter and his aged and grief stricken mother who has now seen all her children laid in the grave. May God comfort the bereaved ones. The remains were brought to his home. Buried Feb. 17. Services by Sam. Garber and A. H. Leaman." Benjamin and Magdalena are buried in Mennonite Cemetery at Hopedale. [1]
