- NOTE: There is some confusion about this couple. It would seem that Olive (Olly) is the daughter of Samuel Dent and Martha “Patsy” Harris, confirmed by various legal documents. But, who is James Park?
Some researchers have Ebenezer Park’s son, Jesse, as Jesse James Park. Several of the dates given for both these men are not exact, only “about.” Which leaves open the fact that the James Park who married Olive (Olly) Dent was in fact, Jesse Park, son of Ebenezer.
James must be a relative (son?) of Jesse’s (but he is not named in Jesse’s will) , perhaps nephew? since Jesse signed the bond below for James and Ollie.
Did James die in 1862? There is a document about the estate of a James Park dated 4 Feb 1863, and William Park was the administrator.
Until this can be sorted out and confirmed, I will leave my information ambiguous as it now is, and would be happy to hear from anyone with better information.
