      Washington - Myrtle E. Schrock, 89, formerly of Washington, died at 8:35 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Eureka.

      Born on June 9, 1920, in Peoria, Ill., to Harry E. and Viola Gomes Marshall, she married Charles M. "Chuck" Schrock on June 9, 1946, at the First Lutheran Church in Peoria. He survives.

      Also surviving are two children, Peggy Schrock of Murray, Ky., and Charles "Bud" (Kathy) Schrock of Wheaton, Ill.; four sisters, Mildred Schwartz of Pekin, Evelyn Ross of Lewisville, Texas, Lois Brown of South Pekin and Virginia Riggenbach of Pekin; and two grandchildren, Jason and Kyle Schrock.

      She was preceded in death by her parents.

      Myrtle was an avid golfer, playing in ladies leagues at Hillcrest Golf Course in Washington.

      She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at 2 p.m. The Rev. John N. Bates will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.

      Memorial contributions may be made to Maple Lawn Nursing Home or to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
