Notes - From her children's death records and other information, her maiden name is probably Garber and her parents are Peter & Magdalena (Gingrich) Garber (married 1846) who settled in Metamora, Woodford County, IL.
Magdalena and her husband, Peter, had at least three daughters and two sons. The sons were Rudolph (who died at age 17) and Henry, and both are buried in Springdale. The daughters were Anna born in 1851, Louisa born in 1852 and Emma born in 1862.
Louisa married John Detweiller in Peoria County on November 15, 1874. Louisa and John had at least two daughters; Anna, born about 1876, and Emma, born about 1879. Anna married Benjamin D. Brewster.
Emma Schertz b.1862 married Bernhard Jobst and Anna Schertz b. 1851 married Christian Klingel.
Peoria County clerk death record: book seven, page 52, Magdalena Schertz, 85 years, 5 mos., 18 days, female, white, a widow, born in Alsace-Lorraine, died Sept. 11, 1910 in Peoria.
