Notes - “At one time Jacob owned 1,570 acres of land in Bureau County, IL and 320 acres in Lee County, and was half-owner of the hotel in Princeton known as the American House. “
A large bank barn was built by Jacob and it is still standing, located about two and one-half miles northwest of the “Red Covered Bridge” in Bureau County--has hand hewn walnut beams. [2]
