Notes - Joseph Staker lived with his parents until he was thirty-seven years old. In the summer, he helped with the farming. During the rest of the year, he was a teacher. In 1914, he married Clara Birkey and they moved to the farm just south of the family farm. Joseph and Clara had no children. Joseph died in 1941. He was sixty-four years old. Clara was a widow for thirty-eight years. She died in 1979 at the age of ninety-one. [2]
