    • Obit:
      John Augspurger, one of the most widely known farmers in Butler county, died at his home in Trenton at 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon of old age and general debility and in his 81st year. Mr. Augspurger was born near Trenton and had lived in the village and that vicinity all his life. He was very well to do and followed farming for many years.

      Besides the widow, four children survive, Hermann, Frederick, Miss Louisa Augspurger and Mrs. Christian Schrock.

      The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at one o’clock, the Rev, J, H, Krehbiel officiating. The interment will be in the Trenton cemetery.

      John invented and sold movable fence and invented a corn stalk and stubble cutter, sketch of which was shown in the Ohio Cultivator Magazine, Vol. 14, Jan. 1, 1858. His fence was patented in April of 1867. [6]
