Notes - Samuel and Marie had two children; Samuel and Catherine had nine. Samuel and Catherine were married by Andrew Ropp, a Mennonite preacher from Groveland, Illinois.
Obit Excerpts: On Tuesday evening, November 30, he took to his bed overcome with the frailties of human life, old age and general debility. The strong and rugged form that had been the home of his soul so long was tired and entered into rest after a brief illness of one week....Father Garber was converted when 18 years of age and united with the Mennonite church at Pekin. After moving to his farm north of town he became a member of the Mennonite church near Hopedale....He leaves a fine farm of 160 acres as a legacy to his children... [1]
