  • Notes
    • Obit:
Nancy J. Crawford (nee Smith) was born near Leslie, Mo., August 5, 1859, and died at her home near Leslie, Saturday morning, May 8, 1926. At the time of her departure she had reached the age of 67 years, 9 months and 3 days.

In the year of 1876 she was married to General Crawford. To this union two children were born, one boy and one girl, both preceding her in death some few years ago. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, one brother, Joseph W. Smith of Labaddie, Mo., one half sister, Mrs. D. H. Grob, of Leslie, Mo., many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday, May 10, at one o'clock from her home. Rev. Adams conducted the funeral services at the house and also at the cemetery. Interment was made in the Little Creek cemetery.

She bid no one a last farewell,/She said good-bye to none, /Her loving heart had ceased to beat/Before we knew she was gone.

Her cherry smile and loving ways/Are pleasant to recall,/She had a kind word for each one/And died beloved by all. –Contributed.
