Frank Marino age 76, of Yorkville, IL passed away peacefully while watching the Chicago Bears football game on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at his home in Yorkville. He was born on July 18, 1930 in Omaha, NE the son of Carl and Louise (Marino) Marino.
Mr. Marino was united in marriage on June 4, 1960 in Joliet, IL to the former Dorothy Park, and they spent the next 42 years of their lives together until her passing on June 20, 2002. Frank served his country proudly during the Korean War in the United States Army as a Paratrooper in the 187th Airborne Division. He was employed for over 40 years with Farmer's Insurance as an agent. Frank enjoyed playing golf and was an avid sports fan, especially of the Nebraska Corn Huskers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Mr. Marino was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be missed by his family and many friends.
Frank is survived by his five children, Susan (Roger) Sigmund of Sandwich, IL, Sandy Marino of Sandwich, IL, Sheila (Neil) Rowley of Yorkville, IL, Frank Marino of NY, and Candy (Tom) Haun of Knoxville, TN; his grandchildren, Dawn Meier, of Yorkville, IL, Shannon Akre of Morris, IL, Kane (Jaime) Akre of Elwood, IL, Adam (Carla Thomas) Clayton of Oakbrook Terrace, IL, Sarah (Brandon) Stewart of Ft. Atkinson, WI, Ryan Clayton of Phoenix, AZ, Betsy (Kevin Liaromatis) Clayton of Bolingbrook, IL, Anthony Marino of NY, Jenny Marino of Yorkville, IL, Frankie Marino of Sandwich, IL, Tom (Shelly) Haun and Sissy (Ray) Witt, both of Tennessee; his great-grandchildren, Stephanie Smith, Lyndsie Rice, Breanna and Trenten Akre, Logan and Alivia Stewart, Payton Akre, Alexandra and Taylor Haun and Deanna Witt; his two brother, Lewis (Nettie) Marino of Omaha, NE and Tony (Judy) Marino of Broadview, IL; his sister, Sallie (Joe) Blank of Omaha, NE; his brothers-in-law, Duane (Shirley) Park of Monticello, IN, Donald Park of TX and Dan (Suzanne) Park of Harrison, AR; his sisters-in-law, Delores (Bill) Raber of Pontiac, IL, and Darlene (John) Armour of Pontiac, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Louse Marino; and his wife, Dorothy Marino.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy., Yorkville, IL.
Funeral Service for Mr. Marino will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.
