      FISHER, Ill. Olen Kandel, 84, of Fisher, Ill., died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Maple Lawn Health Care.Services were held Tuesday, July 27, at East Bend Mennonite Church. The Revs. Michael Dean and Jeff Resseler officiated. Burial was at East Bend Cemetery.Arrangements were handled by Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul, Ill.Memorial contributions may be made to Maple Lawn Homes, Eureka, Ill.He was born March 27, 1920, in Berlin to Abe and Amanda (Miller) Kandel and married Eunice Schrock on June 1, 1943, in Berlin. She died March 15, 2002.He was a Pioneer Hybrid seed corn dealer for 30 years and was a member of East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher, Ill.After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling.Surviving are children, Frank Kandel of Eureka, Ill., Ernie Kandel of Denver, Colo., Rita Smith of Gainesville, Fla., and Jeanette Unzicker of Fisher, Ill.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Eli Kandel of Berlin; and sisters, Vera Weaver of Apple Creek, Sue Yoder of Millersburg and Helen Yoder of Goshen, Ind.
