      Mother of 13 children total, 12 of whom were still living in 1900. Children were George, John, Fannie, Mary, Magdalene, Christian, Fred, Emil, Charles, Edward, Samuel (Simon) and Earnest.

      Mrs. Kauffold Dead

      Mrs. Magdalena Kauffold, 82, died Tuesday afternoon at a local hospital from the effects of injuries suffered in a fall at the home of a son, Ernest C. Jackson, 3325 Larimore avenue.

      Born in Bavaria, she came to America in 1862, married four years later and homesteaded near Alliance in 1885. She came to Omaha 35 years ago, making her home with her son since her husband’s death in 1905.

      Mrs. Kauffold is survived by five sons, Ernest, Sam P., Edward R., and Chris A., of Omaha, and Fred W., of Los Angeles; three daughters, Mrs. M.L. Henning and Mrs. E.F. Jackson of Omaha and Mrs. Mary Creutz of Wausa, Neb.; 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock from Crosby’s Chapel. Six grandchildren will be pallbearers. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery.
