Joseph’s ministry at Salem, and his cousin’s ministry in Indiana, are the beginnings in 1866 of the “Egly church” in Waldo Township, later known as Salem Defenseless Mennonite Church—today in 2018 , Salem Evangelical Mennonite Church.
