      Richard D. Stalter, 74, died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Champaign Co, Illinois..

      Mr. Stalter was born November 7, 1937, in Gridley, McLean County, the son of Aaron and Ruth Heiser Stalter. He married Dixie McLaughlin on October 5, 1975, in Urbana, Illinois. She survives.

      He is survived by his wife two sons, Nathan Stalter and Caleb (Amber) Stalter. three brothers; Ronald Stalter, Robert (Marlene) Stalter and David (Lois) Stalter and one sister, Minerva (Kelly) Birkey.

      Mr. Stalter retired as a maintenance mechanic for Kraft Foods and Southland Foods and was a member of Mattis Avenue Free Methodist Church, Champaign, Illinois. Mr. Stalter loved woodworking, gardening and gospel-singing. 

      He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
