CHENOA — Geneva Good, 86, of Bourbonnais, passed away at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.
She was born Nov. 13, 1928, the daughter of John and Fannie Naffziger Birky. They precede her in death. Geneva married Ellis Good on June 11, 1949, in Fisher.
For many years she and her husband worked the family farm near Fisher, and for 11 years they co-owned Service Master of Kankakee. She was a member of the College Church of the Nazarene, Bourbonnais. She was also a member for many years at East Bend Mennonite Church in Fisher, where she served as president of WMSC, taught Bible and Sunday school, and was the superintendent of the children’s department. In addition, both she and Ellis were youth sponsors. For a number of years she and her business partner arranged silk flowers for weddings, special occasions and other events.
Surviving are her husband, Ellis; daughter, Leisa (Dave) Beckler, Salt Lake City, Utah; and sons, Scott (Marla) Good, Bourbonnais, and Eric (Wendy) Good, Wylie, Texas; nine grandchildren, Grant Beckler, Garett (Amy) Beckler, Chelsea (fiancé, Tom Nestor) Good, Brandon (Jessica) Good, Morgan (Luke) Hoffmann, Reilly Good, Jamin Good, Ethan Good and Bradon Good; great-grandchildren, Lexi Hoffmann and Jada Beckler; and one brother, Wayne (Betty) Birky, Gibson City.
Preceding her in death are her two sisters, Arneitta Birkey and Betty Zehr, and one brother, Wilbert Birky.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at College Church of the Nazarene, Bourbonnais, with a gathering time from 9:30 a.m. to time of service. The Rev. Mark Quanstrom will officiate the service. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials are for Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.
