    • Obit:
      BIRKEY, EARL M. - The funeral of Earl M. Birkey, 81, Gibson City, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gibson City Bible Church, the Rev. Paul Thomason officiating. Burial will be in East Bend Memorial Gardens, Fisher. He died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday 5-8-1996 at Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
      Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Birkey; three sons, Richard Birkey, Rossville; Vernon Birkey, Lake Lure, NC; and Robert Birkey, Omaha, Neb; two sisters, Lois Bachman, Matamora, and Eleanor Birkey Champaign; two brothers, Harlan Birkey, Rantoul, and Leslie Birkey, Foosland; 11 grand-children; and 12 great-grandchildren.
      He was born 5-10-1914 in Danvers, a son of Joe C. and Ida Zehr Birkey. He married Dorothy P. Weaver 9-2-1937 in Fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. [Contributed by Gail Hahn Hutchcraft].
