    • Named as witness, and brother of bride, on marriage document of Marie Engel and Joseph Schrag. (he was actually a step-brother)

      “His parents were “decedes in interval of a few days in ventose (March) of year 6 (1797) of the Revolution. Jean was a farmer at Alzing, with Nicolas Risser. Among 115 parcels of national lands sold on August 10, 1794 (Thermidor 23, year 3), 9 parcels belonging to the Command of Malta were allocated to Schertz.”

      Was farming at Alzing with Nicolas Risser at one time. His parents were deceased only days apart in 1798.

      He went to Bebing in 1808 with his five children. [5, 6]
