GIBSON CITY — Melvin R. Teuscher, 92, Gibson City, formerly of Fisher, died at 2:55 a.m. Sunday (March 4, 2007) at Heartland Health Care in Paxton.
Her [his] private funeral will be Friday at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City, with the Rev. Paul Thomason officiating. Burial will be in East Bend Memorial Gardens, Fisher.
Mr. Teuscher was born July 9, 1914, in Fisher, a son of John S. and Mary Ann Roth Teuscher. He married Mable A. Heiser on Sept. 15, 1936, in Fisher. She died June 19, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Monty (Ginnie) Teuscher, Gibson City, and John (Sue) Teuscher, Pittsfield; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (John) Neff, Champaign, and Ellen Teuscher, Pensacola, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Teuscher was a farmer. He was a member of the Gibson City Bible Church and served on the church board. He enjoyed restoring antique furniture, woodworking, and caning. He was the U of I People to People Ambassador to South America and a past president of the Fisher Grain Elevator board.
