Amos Heiser, 57, died early Thursday morning, September 17, 1942, in Burnham Hospital in Champaign of blood poisoning caused by injuries received eight days previous when he was gored by a bull on his farm northeast of Fisher.

Heiser. - Amos A. Heiser was born at Morton, Ill., Feb. 18, 1885; died at the Burnham City Hospital, Champaign, Ill., Sept. 17, 1942; aged 57 y. 6 m. 29 d. Jan. 23, 1908, he was united in marriage with Bertha E. Birkey who with 2 brothers survives (Joseph A. Heiser, of Fisher, Ill., and Daniel Eyer, of Saybrook, Ill.); also a large number of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Two brothers preceded him in death. At the age of eighteen he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and united with the East Bend Mennonite Church. He always took an active interest in the work of the Church, especially in the Sunday school. In the year of 1919 he was elected to the office of superintendent of Sunday school in which capacity he served either as superintendent or assistant superintendent for twenty-two consecutive years. He lived a quiet, simple life, was an earnest Bible student, firm in his convictions, faithful in his teachings. Funeral services at the East Bend Mennonite Church were conducted by Bros. G. D. Troyer and Ezra Yordy. Text, Eph. 1:6. Interment in the East Bend Cemetery.
