      Duane earl Park, sr. November 14, 1934 - January 18, 2014 Duane Earl Park, Sr., 79, of Monticello, passed away at 5 :13 am, Saturday, January 18, 2014 at I.U. Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born on November 14, 1934 in Pontiac, IL to the late Forrest E. and Alberta (Lehman)Park . On April 15, 1963 he married Shirley Whitaker in Union, Missouri. She survives and resides in Monticello . He worked in construction until his retirement. He also operated a taxi service and sold automobiles. One of his greatest passions was the Jefferson Township Conservation Club where he served on the board of directors and served as president. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing poker. He was a sports enthusiast enjoying professional football, especially the Colts and the Bears, and liked watching boxing. He also enjoyed watching the Discovery Channel, nature programs, and nearly any informative television programming. Above all, he enjoyed time spent with his family. Besides his wife Shirley, he is survived by two sons. Duane Park, Jr. of Monticello and Douglas (Brandi) Park of Monticello; two brothers, Donald Park of Houston, TX and Dan (Sue) Park of Rogers, AK; sister Darlene (John) Armour of Pontiac, IL; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Sisters, Dorothy Marino and Delores Raber also preceded him in death. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 6:00 pm , Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Pastor Born: November 14, 1934 Death: January 18, 2014 Jim Crawn officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association, a conservation club, or a conservation organization of the donor's choice.
